 300 g plain flour
 200 g butter, diced
 2 tbsps icing sugar
 2 level teaspoons baking powder
 2 tbsps rose water or orange flour water
 Some cloves
 Extra icing sugar to roll the cookies in.

Sift the flour and baking powder into a bowl and add the icing sugar. Mix in the butter, knead to a soft dough and add the orange flower water – if the dough is too soft, add somr more flour.


Take small pieces of dough and shape into little balls, or small crescents and insert a clove in the top.


Place on a lined baking tray and bake for about 20 min in a preheated mpoderate oven. While the cookies are still warm roll them into icing sugar, place on a dish and sift more icing sugar over them as they must be well coated.
