PEAR AND ALMOND TART

Serves 6

Ingredients

150g ground almonds

70g gluten-free flour

¾ tsp gluten-free baking powder

1 egg beaten

60ml maple syrup

2 tbsp coconut oil, melted

1 tsp vanilla extract

¼ tsp sea salt

¼ tsp almond extract

6 or 7 tinned pear halves

1 tbsp coconut oil and 1 tsp maple syrup to glaze

 

Method

-          Preheat the oven to 180C/Gas 4; grease the bottom of a tart pan and line with baking parchment

-          Mix the ground almonds, gluten flour and baking powder together in a bowl

-          Whisk the egg, maple syrup, coconut oil, vanilla extract, salt and almond extract together in another bowl; fold in the ground almond mixture to form a sticky dough

-          Press the dough into the prepared tart pan; arrange the pear halves on top

-          Heat the coconut oil and maple syrup together; score the pears and brush with the glaze

-          Bake in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes or until the top is golden

6 jew 7 nofsijiet tal-langas tal-bott

Mgharfa zejt tal-gewz tal-indi u mgharfa gulepp tal-aggru biex tidlek

 

-          Sahhan il-forn ghal 180C/Gas4; idlek il-qiegh ta’forma tat-torti u iksi bil-karta tal-forn

-          Hallat flimkien go skutella, l-lewz midhun, id-dqiq u l-baking powder

-          Habbat flimkien go skutella ohra, il-bajda, l-gulepp tal-aggru, l-estratt tal-vanilla, il-melh u l-estratt tal-lewz; zid it-tahlita tal-lewz u hawwad sakemm ikollok ghagina twahhal

-          Ghafas din l-ghagina fil-forma u poggi l-langas fil-wicc

-          Sahhan iz-zejt tal-gewz tal-indi u l-gulepp tal-aggru flimkien; immarka l-wicc tal-langas b’sikkina u idlikhom bit-tahlita tal-gulepp u zejt

-          Sajjar gol-forn imsahhan ghal madwar 25 minuta jew sakemm il-wicc jihmar
